Low-Impact Forestry Workshop

The annual Low-Impact Forestry Workshop at the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association's Common Ground Woodlot in Unity, Maine, offers a place for small woodlot owners to learn and practice sustainable woodlot management with the team of consulting foresters who are working to improve the MOFGA woodlot. This video shows some of the practical hands-on topics covered in the workshop, including: laying out logging trails; building a log brow; logging with horses, cattle, and appropriate machinery; features of a logging arch and a woods scoot; harnessing the logging horse.
